✔︎ Too many expectations exceeding capacity?
Cars, planes, computers have energy sources; What about you?
Do you feel like your energy is limited or nonexistent?
When are you recharging & where do your boosts come from?
What is burnout? A state that occurs when energy is used up faster than it's restored.
1ST ~ SUPPORT THE DYNAMIC BALANCE OF PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH
1/5
The BODY ~ an individual's ecosystem. Food, sleep, movement, and connection are the wellness pillars of information for the body & mind. Each serve as either medicine or poison. What, how, when & with whom are not questions but answers - informants to how the body & mind will function. Misused energy has consequences. Do you know where your energy is going?
Advancing technology has confirmed what ancient systems of HEALING, like AYURVEDA (the Science of Life),
has taught for thousands of years; we are interconnected and our choices matter.
The health of our community begins with each of us.
We have a personal responsibility to be the highest version of ourselves for the greater good.
The Mind -Unproductive thought patterns and behaviors can keep you in a state of dis-ease. Are you fully aware of the options and choices your mind is making? The first option may not be the best option to achieve wellness.
The NIH reports 157 million Americans will suffer from chronic disease by this year. The CDC reports 70 million Americans suffer from a sleep disorder, 40% of Americans are obese and 40 million people suffer from anxiety. Many are suffering and in silence. Are you one of the millions of Americans that has been diagnosed with a condition and have been told to get use to your new normal?
Are you aware that negative thought patterns and behaviors can keep you in a state of dis-ease. Are you ready to provide yourself with the opportunity to make better choices that will lead to better health?
Explore the thought patterns that aren't matching your vision by partnering with a health coach..
The Spirit ~ Energy! Our inner compass, or intelligence.
Where you've been is only relative to where you think you are and is the starting point to where you'll someday be.
Are you focusing on the past and can't connect to what you are doing? Have you explored what wellness could feel like?
When demands exceed capacity the spirit (fuel) becomes depleted.
When are you most connected to your heart desires? How do you nurture and maintain healthy energy levels?
Answers to these questions hopefully roll off your tongue.
"We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey"
Stephen R Covey
Ayurveda is a mind-body healing system that dates back over 4000 yrs ago yet its richness can help us understand not only our own health but the health on our family, organizations, and community. Referred to as the medicine science of the soul it provides the framework to transcendence; attunement to the wisdom of life beyond just opinion. Its definition of well-being is harmony with our inner soul and the soul of the universe. Ayurveda teaches well-being is not just absence of physical disease.
The four basic levels of Ayurvedic well-being include: prevention, treatment, life enhancement, and awareness development. Our "life self" and our "work self" are actually on the same side of the coin.
Ayurveda is rooted in nature. The Sanskrit terms Vata, Pitta, Kapha represent the energies of Air (what blow's), Fire (what cook's), and Water (what stick's). These energies are called dosha's (or defects). When a dosha exceeds or diminishes from its original form disease develops much like when you have too many users on a network or the network is inflected with a virus, the network suffers.
HOW CAN AYURVEDA HELP US NAVIGATE OUR ENVIRONMENT?
Ayurveda teaches, we each have an unique combination of elements, known as our individual constitution - our physical and psychological blueprint. Homeostasis is dependant upon how well you maintain the balance of your elemental blueprint throughout life. In our worklife, we constantly are tracking and evaluating project process. We must maintain the supply and demand flow in order to meet successful project outcomes.
The science of life emphasizes we are a relational beings AND member of a greater team. How you personally function (your microcosm) either adds or draws energy from the whole (us/macrocosm), just like the relational exchange that is experienced within a family or work team. If one aspect isn't functioning well, the other is negatively impacted and discourse occurs.
Ayurveda teaches breath, digestion and vitality (Prana, Tejas, and Ojas in Sanskrit) are the master and energetic counterparts to Vata, Pitta, Kapha. They are the positive vital essences of the Vata, Pitta, Kapha. Enhancing Prana, Tejas and Ojas promotes wellness and conscious conservation increases lifespan.
Prana: primal life force. Prana is the force of movement behind all mind-body functions. It coordinates the breath, the senses and the mind. Workplace prana could be viewed as what gives life to the organizational culture.
Tejas: the subtle fire energy. Tejas is the action of metabolism. Workplace tegas could reflect for instance how efficiently teams execute projects.
Ojas: the subtle energy of water. Ojas nourishes and supports the mind & body. Workplace ojas could be considered the return on investment; high ogas could mean a strong resilient organization.
Sattva is the quality of intelligence and the creation of harmony.
Rajas is the quality of change and activity.
Tamas is the quality of dullness, and darkness.
Sattva, Rajas & Tamas are gunas otherwise known as the mental and spiritual qualities of nature. In Sanskrit gunas means "what bind's." When we have a thought, it rotates in the constant movement of these qualities. If Sattva increases, Tamas decreases, and this movement of action is Rajas. Imagine the action of sunrise and sunset. The light of the sun nourishes plants and human alike; nighttime is a time for rest and recovery. natures dance.
The Three Pillars of Ayurveda Eat, Sleep, & Love are simple wellness principles. These pillars build Prana (breath), Tejas (metabolism) and Ojas (immunity) or they can breakdown causing dis-ease; it depends on your thoughts & actions.
Eat: The consumption of all things: nutrients, information, the environment, and relationships. Internal and external pathways respond to either the negative or positive influences of lifestyle. Efficiently digesting all that is consumed: physically, mentally, and emotionally allows for the nourishing foods and experiences to make way into our lives. What is seen, heard, spoken, tasted and felt is digested we enter the state of equipoise.
Sleep: Restorative sleep is necessary for rejuvenation and proper elimination. During sleep the mind and the body have the chance to repair. Sleep is critical for optimal brain function. When you don't sleep deeply and consistently brain & body function become distressed.
Relationships: Autonomy is the freedom of choice. Choices in all aspects of life reflect how we see and experience the world. Our choices become our environment.
